What is it like to work with a marketing consultant?
“Consultant” isn’t a dirty word here because we focus on advising AND doing.
Consulting Engagements
Each client engagement is tailored to fit your business needs. In marketing, that can mean a lot of different things. Below are our engagement types to give you an idea of how we work with you and what it looks like to have a consultant as part of your team:
-
Projects are the simplest way to get started with our team. Projects focus on a very narrow scope of work, like launching an email campaign, building a website, or creating social media templates. This work is very tactical in nature, though we approach each project with a strategic and customer-oriented framework.
Project work varies greatly in pricing. Reach out to us about what you’re looking for and we’ll quote it!
-
Strategic planning can be done for the whole business/organization or specifically around revenue/customers and the marketing function. We work with boards and leadership teams to clarify goals, identify major initiatives, uncover opportunities, improve processes, organize resources, or solve other issues that are stalling progress.
Strategic planning is usually a 90-Day engagement; our team will meet with your team several times and provide written documentation and recommendations for execution.
Pricing varies depending on the size of your organization; please reach out for a quote!
-
This may include leading an internal team or building one, and our involvement is at the board or leadership level, offering decision-making guidance as it relates to the customer and revenue growth. These are monthly retainer-like engagements of 10-12 hours/mo, with weekly team or leadership check-ins. We are involved and embedded in your company like a part-time team member, charged with achieving specific outcomes, but without the onboarding timeline, training, or investment of a full-time employee.
The “team-adjacent” nature of the role keeps us out of the office politics, random meetings, and water cooler conversations allowing us to stay focused and efficient in moving the organization toward your goals.
Pricing for part-time/fractional work varies, depending on the consultant and the size of your company and/or team. Please reach out to talk about finding the right fit for your organization.

Hourly Marketing Consulting includes advice, decision-making assistance, insights, opinions, or guidance on marketing strategy, operations, and implementation. It does not include tactical implementation work; it is designed to provide an experienced marketing perspective when you need it, feedback on various marketing initiatives, or ideas for how to solve marketing challenges.
This is a very flexible option, allowing for a marketing partner when you need it. It’s as simple as scheduling a quick call to get feedback on a new product launch that’s coming up, a short meeting to check your thinking on a major announcement or project, or it could be scheduling a standing meeting once a month to anticipate potential roadblocks or review current status.
Pricing varies depending on the consultant; we can bill as the time is used, or 12-month agreements are available to reduce the hourly rate, and hours can be banked for use during peak seasons.
